Tierra Nueva
Apple, caramel, chocolate — the bean Frio was built around, roasted specifically for a long cold steep.
Tierra Nueva — "new land" — is Frio's flagship roast, and the reason the brand exists in the first place. It's roasted to hold its sweetness over a long, slow cold steep: the apple and caramel notes stay bright instead of turning flat, and the chocolate finish comes through clean, without any of the bitterness a hot-brew roast picks up when it's steeped cold.
Cold Brew Concentrate
Tierra Nueva was roasted backwards from the glass — developed for a 16+ hour cold steep, not reheated as an afterthought. Hot-brew methods will still work fine, but this is the bean built for ice.
The perfect Tierra Nueva cold brew.
Grind & ratio
Grind coarse — like sea salt. Use 1 part coffee to 8 parts cold or room-temperature water.
Steep
Combine in a jar or cold brew maker, stir to make sure everything's saturated, and leave in the fridge for 16–18 hours.
Strain
Strain through a fine mesh sieve or cloth filter until the grounds are fully out of the liquid.
Serve
Dilute the concentrate 1:1 to 1:3 with water, milk, or tonic, and pour over ice.
